Tod3

“The Tim O’Dwyer Trio combines the intense interplay of free jazz, the simple heaviness of rock and the complexity of modern composition, creating a music with visceral impact and free-wheeling excitement.

Having recently recorded their second CD ‘FALCONRY’, the group have solidified a live set of truly stomping originals.
In the 3 years that separate their debut “Broken River’ and “Falconry’ the trio have pursued divergent musical paths – Thomas, based in Berlin since 2007 has been performing with luminaries of creative music – Peter Brotzmann, Evan Parker, Sonny Simmons, John Butcher, Mats Gustaffsson and Tobias Delius – to name a few.
Meanwhile, O’Dwyer and Moore have been based out of Singapore with Tim working as Head of Music at LASALLE College of the Arts and composing new music for various ensembles, including collaborating with John Butcher and the Elision Ensemble at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in a homage to Anthony Braxton. Further projects at this festival in 2011 will be with Elision and Richard Barrett. Darren Moore, also a lecturer in Popular Music at LASALLE, has recently recorded the debut album of his new Singapore quintet and solo project and continues to tour to Japan and South East Asia as soloist and in his collaborative project ‘black zenith’ with Brian O’Reilly featuring electronics and video.
The trio returned to the stage together again in 2010, performing in Japan, Switzerland – playing the legendary Montreaux Festival, and returning home to a rapturous welcome at The Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
2012 may be the end of the world, but otherwise, nothing’s going to stop the TOD3.”
